  • Contact with electricity is the third leading cause of fatalities in construction (per 2015 Fed OSHA statistical data)
  • 81 out of 937 fatalities in the construction industry during 2015 were the result of electrocutions (8.6%)
  • Health Effects:
    • Burns
    • Ventricular fibrillation & cardiac arrest
    • Respiratory arrest
    • Arc blast damage (hearing damage or loss, blast lung injury, collapsed lung from pressure wave, shrapnel wounds)
    • UV light burns to eyes & skin
    • Electrocution/Death
